BrandSnark: Good Week/Bad Week for the Big Brands

Curious Week: IHOP – The ubiquitous pancake chain used social media to tease the possibility of changing its name to IHOB… and intentionally neglected to reveal what the “b” stands for, immediately launching a million theories: breakfast, brunch, bacon, broccoli, botulism?

Nostalgic Week: Rawlings – The venerable sporting goods manufacturer – best known for its baseball gloves, including my first Bobby Knoop model – is being sold to a private equity firm for $395M by owner Newell Brands. #safeathome

Bad Week: MyHeritage The DNA-testing company – one of the world’s largest – discovered this week that its servers were hacked in October 2017, exposing the email addresses of its entire database of 92 million users. Looks like everyone is descended from chumps.
